Here's a short video explaining how to customize your profile on the course web site.

You're not required to customize your profile, but it's pretty easy--and kind of cool--to do it if you want to.
You can change your profile so that your name--first name only or nickname, for example--rather than your email address, is displayed when you leave a comment.
You can also change your profile so it displays whatever picture you want whenever you leave a comment. It doesn't have to be a photograph of your face; it can be a cartoon, which is what I use in the example below.
