Overview

Students should take advantage of the very useful companion web site for Diana Hacker's Rules for Writers, a book that's required for both English 101 and English 102.

You'll need to register as a student on the site to take full advantages of all that it offers and to complete some of the assignments for the course. When you register, be sure that you enter my gwilliams@uscupstate.edu email address so I can check the progress you make on any online exercises I assign.

(Note: Be sure that you have the Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer or else you'll get an error message when you try to complete the quizzes. The Flash Player is a free plugin for your web browser that allows certain animations to work. You can download the player by clicking here and following the instructions.)

You can complete exercises in writing, grammar, and research by clicking on the items in the left hand menu.

For each section--writing, grammar, research--you'll find a variety of exercises.
